I installed the latest Anaconda on my 2024 Windows 11 Laptop. That seemed to work, but no shortcuts were installed on my desktop. I was able to execute anaconda by having it come up when I click on an old Python file I have. But an attempted execution of Spyder failed immediately. Now what?

I turned off my antivirus thing and installed it again. Now spyder will execute but it “can’t start kernel.” I found a discouragingly long dialog of attempts to fix this. I’ll wait until I feel like trying to fix this, which could be forever. There could be better ways than Python of accomplishing my goals. I think I’ll just make models in real life instead of messing with computer programs. It will be easier and better result.
Thank you so much for the feedback. I fixed this problem just selected to install the Anaconda package as the administrator. Hope it also works for you 
Aha I will try that. I’ve never become administrator before so we’ll see how that goes.
