Never ending update requests

Every time I open Anaconda Navigator, it asks me to update. If I click update now, I get another screen telling me it is very important to keep Anaconda updated. The only option that is not greyed out is Dismiss. Clicking dismiss closes Anaconda.
I tried to Anaconda prompt route to updating using conda
This did not work, and I got the same issue.
I uninstalled Anaconda and reinstalled it, with a new download to the latest version. I still have the same issue.
I’m running Windows 11, with automatic Windows updates.

Sorry to necro this but i had the same issue here (while updating to 2.6.5), but i think i figured out what’s happening. So i’ill post it here in case anyone else has the same issue. When you hit “update now”, you get 2 pop-ups almost simultaneously, one that asks to confirm you want to close the navigator and the second that opens over the first one is the one you mentionned (telling its important to update and to close the navigator before updating).

What’s hapening is that this second window is actually the updater ui, not a simple message pop-up, and is waiting for you to close the navigator to allow the update to start (keeping the options to start the update grayed out in the mean time).

Simply move that second window aside (without clicking “dismiss” or closing it => if you do either, you’ll actually be closing the updater, thus cancelling the update process) and confirm that you want to close the navigator (hitting “yes” in the first window). The navigator and all associated windows should then close, leaving only the updater window in which, after a few seconds, the formerly grayed out options should become clickable (allowing you to click to start the update).
